ADOT will close State Route 89A, through Oak Creek Canyon, to all traffic overnight Thursday. Crews will be closing the road from 9 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday so crews can work on the Pumphouse Bridge safely. The closure will start at Cave Springs Campground for four miles to Oak Creek Vista Overlook. Drivers who usually travel State Route 89A, are being urged to use Interstate-17 to get between Flagstaff and Sedona overnight Thursday. Eight-foot vehicle width and 30-foot length restrictions will remain in place 24-7 for the duration of the project. The work is part of the bridge rehabilitation project portion of the State Route 89A Oak Creek Canyon Improvements project, which also includes rockfall mitigation and erosion control work.
