There’s some good news regarding the pavement project on Interstate-40 in Flagstaff. There is no work scheduled during weekends on I-40, which means long delays over the past few weekends will likely be a thing of the past. Crews are finishing up pavement work on westbound I-40 west of the I-17 junction, which should be completed by Friday morning. Traffic will be reduced to one lane overnight. Starting at 7 p.m. Sunday and running through 6 a.m. Tuesday, westbound I-40 will be down to one lane for two miles, west of Walnut Canyon Road and Country Club Drive. From next Tuesday at 7 p.m. through next Friday at 6 a.m., eastbound I-40 will be down to one lane in the same area. Then work will continue on both eastbound and westbound sides of Interstate-40 between Walnut Canyon Road and Country Club the following week.
