ADOT Reminds Drivers Of Intermittent Overnight Closures In Switchbacks Of State Route 89A Monday

The Arizona Department of Transportation is reminding locals and travelers of intermittent overnight closures on a three-mile section of State Route 89A in Oak Creek Canyon Monday. Closures are needed for crews to mitigate rockfall, rehabilitate a bridge, control erosion, and install traffic-control barriers on the roadway. The closure will be in the switchbacks from the Pumphouse Wash Bridge to Oak Creek Vista and will be in 15-minute intervals twice per hour from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Road work is expected to be complete by Tuesday. ADOT reminds drivers to slow down and use caution when traveling near crews and equipment.
