An accident involving three semi-trucks closed eastbound Intersate-40 in Parks late Saturday night. Ponderosa Fire officials say the accident happened at milepost 178 at around 10 p.m. Several emergency crews including: DPS, Camp Navajo Fire, Flagstaff Fire, CCSO and ADOT arrived at the scene. DPS says one of the trucks went down into a culvert, seriously injuring the driver. Three people total were taken to Flagstaff Medical Center, two by helicopter. There’s no word what caused the accident. One lane of I-40 reopened at around 1 a.m. The highway has fully reopened.
