A small earthquake was detected near Walnut Canyon east of Flagstaff Thursday night. The U.S. Geological Survey says the small quake measuring 2.7, hit at around 9:09 p.m. Thursday. Officials say the quake was about seven miles east of Flagstaff and was about three miles below the surface. The quake was on the Walnut Canyon Fault, that has seen small earthquakes occasionally over the last few years. The USGS says they have had reports of people near the area report that they felt the quake. There was no damage reported.
