A semi-truck caught fire, which spread to a brush fire and shut down southbound Interstate-17 for hours Wednesday. DPS says the truck caught fire near the Stoneman Lake Road Exit, south of Munds Park, at around 1 p.m. The truck was pulling a trailer, which is what caught fire. The fire spread from the vehicle to some brush on the side of the highway. Southbound I-17 was closed until around 8 p.m. as emergency crews extinguished the fires and cleaned up the scene. There were no injuries reported in the incident.
