A Prescott Man Is Found Guilty On Multiple Counts Of Child Molestation And Sexual Conduct With A Minor

A Prescott man was found guilty last month of child molestation and sexual conduct of a minor, who was a family member. In January of 2018, a young girl made a disturbing statement during her class. Her teacher alerted school officials, who called the Department of Child Services. After speaking with the child, DCS visited her home to speak to the girl’s older sister, who was ten-years-old at the time. DCS learned that now 34-year-old Jeremiah Ray Martin had been molesting the older girl. Prescott Police launched an immediate investigation and Martin was arrested and booked on molestation and related charges. During the trial, Yavapai County Attorney Dennis McGrane commended the jury along with DCS and Prescott Police for their investigation into this matter. He also commended the young girl’s teacher for taking quick action to alert school officials. Martin is facing a maximum sentence of 60 years in prison after he was found guilty on four counts of child molestation, one count of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of attempted sexual conduct with a minor. He will be sentenced in Yavapai County Superior Court at 4 p.m. on October 16th.
