Chino Valley Man Arrested In Connection With A Fatal Shooting Sunday Morning

An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal shooting in Chino Valley Sunday morning. Police were called to a home in the 15-hundred block of Golden Drive in Chino Valley at around 10 a.m.  Police say 47-year-old Gabino Saenz of Phoenix, went to the home to contact 62-year-old Christopher Wendt of Chino Valley about some type of property exchange. During their interaction, Wendt pulled out a handgun and shot Saenz in the face and neck area. Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority and LifeLine ambulance attempted life-saving measures.  After exhaustive attempts to save the man, he was pronounced dead at the scene.  Wendt was arrested on homicide-related charges and booked into the Yavapai County Jail in Camp Verde.
