A fatal accident took place Monday night on Townsend Winona Road. Coconino County Sheriff’s officials say an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian took place at Cosnino Road and Townsend Winona at around 7:04 p.m. A person was trying to cross Townsend Winona Road at the intersection when a vehicle traveling eastbound hit the person as he was crossing. The driver says he didn’t see the person at the time of the accident. Officials say the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are still trying to identify the victim. The accident remains under investigation.
