A New Wildfire Started Near The Flagstaff Landfill Thursday Morning

A wildfire started Thursday morning near the Flagstaff City Landfill. The Landfill Fire burned about a quarter of an acre. Summit Fire and Medical crews responded to the fire, with help from a forest service crew. No structures were threatened. City of Flagstaff officials say the fire is under control and the landfill is operational. The fire was reported to the Forest Service at around 5 a.m. The city reminds residents to not put hot ashes, car batteries or Lithium Ion batteries in the trash.
