A Man Was Pulled To Safety After Getting Stuck In The Grand Canyon

A man was pulled to safety from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon Saturday night. National Park Service officials say they received a report of a male visitor who became stranded about 100 feet below the rim at Hopi Point at around 7:10 p.m. Officials say he had climbed down to watch the sunset and couldn’t get back up in the dark. A rescue team assembled and pulled the visitor to safety using a rope apparatus. He was uninjured. Park officials remind visitors to stay on designated trails and walkways and keep a safe distance from cliffs and steep terrain.
