Flagstaff Police, CCSO Involved With The Fatal Shooting Of A Missouri Man After An Attempted Break-In Of An East Flagstaff Gas Station

Flagstaff Police and Coconino County Sheriff’s deputies were involved in a fatal shooting of a Missouri man who was seen trying to break into a gas station in East Flagstaff Wednesday morning. Flagstaff Police responded to the intersection of North Highway 89 and Cummings Street on reports of a man breaking a gas station window and entering the business, taking items from the store. At the same time, CCSO received reports of a suspect threatening to stab people with a knife in the same area. When a police officer arrived, the suspect started moving toward the officer with a screwdriver, in a threatening manner. The officer drew his taser, and the suspect fled on foot. After a short chase and with the help of CCSO, the officer and deputies had the suspect surrounded. The suspect still refused to comply. The man once again threatened officers with the screwdriver, in which the deputy resulted to using deadly force. A Flagstaff officer fired his taser at the same time shots were fired by the deputy. The man has been identified as 51-year-old Donald Wayne Henry from Missouri. If anyone has any information about this case, contact Flagstaff Police Department at (928)-774-1414 or call Silent Witness at (928)-774-6111.
