A Man Was Arrested After Barricading Himself In A Mayer Motel Early Sunday

A man was arrested after barricading himself in a motel, after an alleged assault early Sunday morning. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an assault at the Hitching Post Motel in Mayer, where one person had been punched and threatened by another guest. Deputies arrived at the location and saw the suspect, Ryan Wiles, walking in front of the motel holding what appeared to be a large knife. After being given commands to drop the weapon, the suspect did so, but barricaded himself into his room. The YCSO Quick Response Team responded to the scene, entered the room, and arrested the male without incident. Wiles was booked on assault, disorderly conduct, threatening, and resisting arrest charges.
