A man who fatally stabbed his landlord back in July of 2017 will be spending a significant time behind bars. James Womble was sentenced last week in a Coconino County courtroom after he was found guilty of second degree murder in April. The 23-year-old stabbed 63-year-old Peter Gillespie six-to-eight times with a pair of scissors after they were involved in a tenant-landlord dispute. Gillespie later passed away from his injuries. Womble pleaded not guilty, saying he was attacked by Gillespie and was defending himself. He was sentenced to 19 years in prison for the crime.
