A 22-year-old Flagstaff man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in East Flagstaff. Flagstaff Police responded to the 43-hundred block of East Soliere Avenue. When they arrived they found a Toyota passenger vehicle has collided with a Tesla passenger vehicle. Witnesses told police the Toyota was heading westbound from North Country Club Drive at a high rate of speed, when it lost control and slid into the eastbound lane of East Soliere Avenue and collided with the Tesla. The accident caused the Toyota to overturn onto its roof and stopped in a drainage ditch. The driver of the Toyota, 22-year-old Matthew Nasafotie, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nasafotie is a graduate of Coconino High School. The driver of the Tesla was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center for treatment. The crash remains under investigation.
