A Colorado woman died Thursday while on a non-commercial river trip on the Colorado River. Grand Canyon National Park officials received a notice of an emergency near Hance Rapid at around 11:18 a.m. Members of the group pulled her out of the water and saw she was unresponsive. They began performing CPR until park rangers arrived. A short time later she was pronounced dead. The woman has been identified as 68-year-old Mary Kelley from Steamboat Springs, Colorado, who was on day nine of her river trip. The investigation by the National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner is ongoing.
