Ironwood Fire In Cordes Lakes, Zones Previously In SET Now Reduced To READY

The Ironwood Fire near Cordes Lakes which was burning at 229 acres is 100 percent contained. The fire previously placed zones YCU-2306, YCU-2327, YCU-2315 and YCU-2309 in SET, but now the area has been deemed safe and those zones have been reduced to READY. The Ironwood Fire was reported around 3:30 p.m. Friday after a motorhome caught fire on Interstate 17 northbound. The vehicle reportedly had ammunition inside that went off after the vehicle was ablaze. All northbound and southbound lanes are open to traffic. During the early hours of the fire, a drone postponed aircrews from tending to the fire.
