Could paid parking be coming to the Flagstaff Airport? In a presentation to the Flagstaff City Council during their budget retreat this week, Management Services Director Rick Tadder told members maybe it’s time to start charging people to park at the airport. Currently short-term and long-term parking is free. Tadder said the airport is having problems with non-airport users parking for extended periods of time. He is proposing a cost between three and five dollars a day to park there. If approved, the city would get a gated entry and exit, using a ticket and payment system. Interim City Manager Barbara Goodrich suggested hiring an airport business manager and two parking attendants. Those positions would be funded through airport parking fees.
