The Coconino County Sheriff’s office is investigating the discovery of human remains Sunday in the area west of Highway 89, just south of the Navajo Nation boundary near Cameron. Hunters reported finding the remains Sunday morning at around 9 a.m. Investigators determined the remains were human. The location and condition of the remains leads investigators to believe the remains may be those of Jackie McClellan Junior, who was reported missing in December of 2007. At the time, the family reported seeing McClellan walking away from the family’s sheep camp. The remains were found in the same general area. Positive identification of the remains is still pending.
