Horse Racing returns to the Prescott area Friday for the first time in nine years. The last time horse racing ran at the track then known as Yavapai Downs was in 2010. Arizona Downs will host eight races Friday to begin the summer season at the renovated race track in Prescott Valley. Owners of the track want to make it a fun family venue. They will have a family fun zone with food trucks and specials for kids. Racing at Arizona Downs will take place every weekend through Labor Day. Admission is two dollars and kids ten and under are free. The gates open at 10 a.m. with the first race at 1 p.m. Arizona Downs is located at the ten-thousand block of East State Route 89A.
