A Hopi man has been found dead after a cliff jumping accident at Lake Powell. Coconino County Sheriff’s deputies received a call Monday afternoon about an accident at Anchovy Point, which is a popular area for swimming and fishing. Officials say 25-year-old Erick Kallestewa attempted a jump of about 30 feet. Witnesses say he made the jump and resurfaced but had difficulty swimming due to the wind and wave conditions. His body was found 432 feet below the surface by a remotely operated vehicle this morning at around 10:45 a.m. The incident is under investigation.
