Former NAU Wide Receiver Emmanuel Butler Goes Undrafted, But Signs With The New Orleans Saints
It’s been 14 years since NAU has had a player taken in the NFL Draft, but former wide receiver Emmanuel Butler signed a free agent contract with the New Orleans Saints after the draft was completed Saturday. Butler is NAU’s all time leader in touchdown receptions with 33 and receiving yards with 3,217. He also holds single season records with 1,208 yards and 16 touchdowns. Butler will report to Saints rookie camp this week and be ready for fall camp later in the summer. The last Lumberjacks to be drafted was punter Paul Ernster, who was taken in the seventh round by the Denver Broncos in 2005.
