The Flagstaff Eagles scored touchdowns on their first two possessions of the game and held on to beat the Central Bobcats 21-18 in the Flagstaff Kickoff Classic at the NAU Skydome Friday night. Central fought back after being down 14-0 in the first quarter, scoring early in the second quarter and opened the second half by recovering an onside kick and scoring on the half’s first drive. The Bobcats then recovered another onside kick and drove down and scored again. Flagstaff’s defense held tight, stopping three straight two-point conversions. The Eagles then used a long, fourth quarter drive to tire out Central and get the win. Eagles sophomore quarterback Christian Singleton scored twice in the first quarter and Zack Olson returned a kickoff for a touchdown to lead Flag High. Flagstaff will head to the valley next Friday night to take on the Peoria Panthers.
