Flagstaff Police have arrested a man after he allegedly shot another person in the parking lot of the Coconino County Detention Facility Wednesday night. Officials say 38-year-old David Scrum walked into the lobby of the building at around 10:05 p.m. and wanted to report a crime. The man was told to go to the Police Department to speak with an officer. Around 11 p.m., Scrum arrived back at the building and tried to alert someone inside, but failed. Another person came out of the building and was confronted by the suspect in the parking lot. The person asked Scrum if he worked there. He said no and the suspect told him he was trying to get inside. Scrum then shot the person, robbed him and fled the scene. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and is being treated at the Flagstaff Medical Center. Scrum was found at the Flagstaff Medical Center and confessed to the crime. He’s been arrested on attempted second degree murder and booked into the Coconino County Jail.
