Flagstaff Police Alerting Consumers About A Food Discount Scam
Flagstaff Police are alerting residents about a scam involving food discounts. Officials say incidents have been reported by Domino’s Pizza in the Flagstaff area. Victims have utilized a link on a Twitter post offering the discounts, which is offered by a third party. The victim pays for their purchase via the third-party link, at which time personal information, including credit card information is stolen by the third party. Police want consumers to be mindful when using an application to pay for your purchases, as credit cards and personal data, may be retained and or stolen for criminal purposes. Guard your personal and credit card information, and if you find unauthorized activity you may report this information to your financial institution as well as law enforcement.
Scammers always seem to find an angle or a way to hack codes. This is why I will not pay bills, shop, or even bank online. Nothing is safe anymore from Identity theft.
You got that right!
