The Flagstaff City Council is now moving on to the budget after Tuesday night’s minimum wage meeting. The council will be in a budget retreat Thursday at city hall. Some of the topics they will discuss include Rio de Flag funding, available revenue and fixed costs along with working on council goals. One topic expected to be discussed is the possible raise in the property tax levy. Mayor Coral Evans says the raise would mean just pennies on the dollar for homeowners that would go to pay for much needed issues in Flagstaff. The city has put off raising the property tax levy for a number of years. She says it isn’t a raise in the property tax. The budget retreat is open to the public.
