The Flagstaff City Council unanimously approved a plan for three parcels for affordable housing in Flagstaff. The parcels are at 17-hundred East Sixth Avenue, 3050 North West Street and 303 South Lone Tree Road and will be home to 80 new units total. The three parcels were previously approved for affordable housing back in 2017. Also, councilwoman Jamie Whelan brought a future agenda item request to talk about a possible plastic sled ordinance regarding the sale of plastic sleds, or to add an additional charge to the purchase that would go toward cleanup. Council heard from Heidi Hansen from the Flagstaff Convention and Visitors Bureau about a plan they are working on regarding broken sleds. Whelan says a company approached her about recycling broken sleds that are collected. Council moved the FAIR item forward and will discuss it further at a future council meeting.
