After a marathon session lasting over five-and-a-half hours, the Flagstaff City Council mowed through a large agenda last night at the Coconino County Board of Supervisors Chambers. The council passed the smoking ordinance by a 6-1 vote. The ordinance will ban smoking in city parks and cemeteries starting in 30 days. They also passed an ordinance approving a land sale near the Flagstaff Airport for a new hotel and corporate headquarters for GreenTree Inn. The council also unanimously approved the budget on a first read. The final read will come at a future council meeting. Two of the three future agenda item requests passed, with Councilman Odegaard’s request of a citizen initiatives going right to the votes failing to advance.
