The Flagstaff City Council unanimously accepted the resignation from Josh Copley as city manager Monday. The council decided in a special session before their budget retreat began. Council named Barbara Goodrich as Acting Flagstaff City Manager. Goodrich has been the city’s deputy manager since 2015. She is responsible for Economic Vitality and Community Development. There’s no word on when a permanent manager will be named. Copley turned in his resignation last week after citing “discourteous treatment” by two members of the council. He claimed the members “seem to be more concerned with their political ambitions and personal agendas than the good of the city as a whole.” Copley retired from the Flagstaff Police Department in 2012 after 26 years on the force.
