The City of Flagstaff and Northern Arizona University are launching a six-month pilot program to test bike sharing in Flagstaff. The program allows one bike share company to operate around 300 bikes in the city and on campus. During the phase, Spin, will track bike usage and preferred parking areas to identify where users will benefit most from the service. Each bike will be equipped with a basket, light, integrated locking system and a GPS tracking device used to track the bike. To use the bike, use the Spin app on a smartphone to unlock the lock, then to end the ride you would park it in a responsible location, such as near a bike rack and lock the bike down.
