Demolition has begun on the old city office building in downtown Flagstaff. Crews began to tear down the building at 101 West Cherry Tuesday. The work at the site is to get ready to build a brand new, three-story municipal courthouse on the site. The building will cost nearly 20-million dollars and was approved by voters in 2016. The facility was previously the home for Arizona Public Service and then the city’s environmental management and sustainability sections. The Flagstaff City Council still has to approve construction of the building, which should happen later this month.
