A man and woman from California were arrested recently on Interstate-40 in Ash Fork on multiple charges. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials pulled over 29-year-old Juan Requejo from New Mexico and 27-year-old Brittnee Sorenson from California after having no visible license plate last Wednesday night. A deputy detected an odor of marijuana coming from the car. Authorities recovered drugs that Requejo stored on his body. They found 12 grams of meth on his person. Deputies also found numerous “Visa” credit cards and notebooks containing credit card numbers, all of which appeared stolen. Due to the large number of documents collected, there is likely numerous victims. Deputies also found out the car had been reported stolen out of California. The two were booked on numerous charges and remain in a Yavapai County Jail.
