The city of Cottonwood has become the first city in Arizona to raise the age when you can buy tobacco products from 18 to 21. The Cottonwood City Council passed the ordinance Tuesday night. “Prescottenews.com” reports the idea of raising the age to 21 was brought to council by the Yavapai Anti-Tobacco Coalition Youth, which is affiliated with Yavapai County Health Services. The ordinance will take effect next month. California became the first state in America to raise the tobacco-buying age to 21 yesterday.
