A Cornville man was killed Sunday near Cornville when the motorcycle he was on collided with a guardrail. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the accident on Cornville Road at around 4:15 p.m. When they arrived, a white van towing a cargo trailer was stopped in the west lanes with the driver and only occupant uninjured. Nearby the motorcycle was laying in the eastbound lane with heavy damage. Witness say 65-year-old Carl Rowe was ejected from the bike after the collision and was thrown some distance. Medical personnel tended to Rowe in an embankment. He wasn’t wearing a helmet and suffered significant injuries. Rowe was taken to the Verde Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Investigators say Rowe was traveling east on Cornville Road, struck a guardrail after crossing into the westbound lane, ejecting him from the bike. The motorcycle then deflected off the guardrail and struck the van. The accident remains under investigation.
