The City of Flagstaff is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday for the new municipal courthouse. The new three-story, $19.5 million dollar facility will replace the current, smaller, building at 15 North Beaver Street when it opens in the spring of 2020. The new building will feature three jury-capable courtrooms, one non-jury courtroom, deliberation rooms and more. The project was approved by voters in 2016. The building will be built at 101 West Cherry Avenue in downtown Flagstaff. The ceremony will be held at the construction site starting at 10:30 a.m. The public is welcome to attend.
