Coconino County officials say an online security breach may have compromised personal and protected health information for certain individuals. Officials say they learned about an incident involving unauthorized access through the county’s email system. Two incidents took place on December 4th of last year and February 23rd of this year where an unauthorized person had access to personal information. When finding out about the breach, the infected accounts were immediately frozen. The county received this information after engaging a leading computer forensics investigation company to look at the incidents. Officials say there is no evidence that anyone’s information is being misused and the county is providing individuals with notice of these events and well as access to credit and identity protection services.
