Coconino County is closing a seven-mile stretch of Lake Mary Road in anticipation of the severe winter storm heading into the region. Public works officials are closing the stretch of road at 4 p.m. today. The closure will be in effect at the north entrance of Mormon Lake to the south entrance of Mormon Lake. There will be a detour along the west side of Mormon Lake Road, which loops around Mormon Lake and goes through Mormon Lake Village. The road will stay closed until weather conditions allow for the county to safely reopen it.
