Coconino County Begins Drive-Up Testing For COVID-19/Coronavirus
Coconino County has started drive-up swab testing for COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus. Patients can go to Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff until 4 p.m. Monday, with hours beginning Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. An order from a medical provider is required for testing. Testing sites are not open to the public and people without proper documentation will be turned away. Once completed, the specimen will be taken to a test site for testing for COVID-19. The testing will be done by Northern Arizona Health Care. For more information, or for any questions, contact the county’s coronavirus information hotline at (928) 679-7300, or email at COVID19Information@coconino.az.gov.
Why is an order needed, everyone should be tested.
exactly!!!!
by the time you get into to see a doctor or see them they should be able to tell you if you got the virus or not. where i live it take a week to get to see a dr
so u do that then go wait in line . its a significant delay. too bad people cant get tested when they want to know if they have the virus or not without going thru this extended procedure of getting a note from their dr. the health dept should be aware of what a significant delay this makes people go thru and in some cases discourages getting tested. i guess we can all just go around with out knowing whether or not we really have the virus and should self hibernate
Test everyone.
Thank you Coconino County Health for your support in the care of our people. I will see my patient tomorrow in the parking lot of my office building. I have screened her today by phone and I will check her out tomorrow. If she meets the criteria, I will send her your way with an order for testing. Thanks again for all you to keep us all safe!
There are limited test and resources. They have to target who they use these limited resources on Welcome to the problem with pandemics: limited resources. It would be ideal to test everyone, but we have a country that doesn’t believe in universal healthcare because it costs too much, but suddenly believes in universal testing.
There is a 2 month long wait for me to get seen by a primary to get an order. I don’t have a primary because I don’t have insurance. What about all the uninsured people who cant afford a primary or urgent care visit? I’m sick right now.
Right now in Coconino County doctors are not charging to get a referral for a test. Call the Coconino County Health hotline number for any questions you may have.
Thank you
