The Flagstaff City Council has a busy night in store at Tuesday night’s council meeting at City Hall. The council will be discussing the parking situation in downtown Flagstaff, with the idea of putting metered parking in play. Metered parking is aimed to collect funds and to free up spaces that normally would be occupied for more than a couple of hours. If approved by the council it will take about six-to-nine months to construct and implement the system. The council will also talk about the Marriott project at Humphries and Aspen Avenue. The city wants to purchase pieces of land on Humphries to expand the road at a future date and create a right-turn lane where a Marriott Hotel will be constructed. The council will also hear about a citizen’s petition to support a resolution condemning anti-Muslim, anti-refugee and anti-immigrant speech from Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump and others. The council meeting begins at 6 p.m.
