Christmas tree cutting permits go on sale this week across Northern Arizona. In the Coconino National Forest, 600 permits will be available at 15-dollars each starting Friday. Three-hundred permits will be available at the ranger station in Happy Jack, 200 at the ranger station on Highway 89 in Flagstaff and 100 will be available at the supervisor’s office on South Thompson Street. The tree cutting area will be on the Mogollon Rim Ranger District in the southern end of the forest. Around 600 permits will also be sold in the Prescott National Forest starting Saturday. Around 18-hundred permits will be sold starting Thursday on the Kaibab National Forest. Permits for all three forests are on a first come, first served basis.
