Southbound Interstate-17 has reopened at Camp Verde after a fatal accident early this morning. The body found near the home of a missing eight-year-old Bullhead City girl has been identified as Isabella Grogan-Canella. Bullhead City police say she was found in a shallow grave close to the family home. Police have arrested 26-year-old Justin Rector and has been charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping in connection with the girl.
It was a cool August for Flagstaff. The National Weather Service says the average temperature was 74.6 degrees, which makes August the eighth coolest month in Flagstaff since 1899. The high temperature in Flagstaff was at or below the low temperature for Phoenix every day last month.
Attendance at the Coconino County Fair was up over eight-percent from last year. Fair officials say over 43-thousand people attended the three-day fair, compared to just below 40-thousand last year. Fair organizers credit three days of great weather and extreme heat in Phoenix that drew visitors up north for the Labor Day weekend.
