Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man after a traffic stop Thursday, after they found thousands of fentanyl pills in a storage compartment in the trunk of an SUV. Deputies found 20-thousand pills with an estimated street value of $400-thousand during a stop for a traffic violation on Interstate-17 at around 3:30 p.m. K9 deputies have seized 72-thousand fentanyl pills this week. Since January, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s K9 unit has seized over 240-thousand fentanyl pills worth $4.8-million dollars since the start of 2021, which is a 15-hundred-percent increase when you compare it to the last six months of 2020. Arrested was 23-year-old Andres Herrera of Phoenix and he is facing multiple drug charges connected to the incident.
