Prescott Police responded to a two vehicle accident on State Route 89 at MacCurdy Drive Friday morning at around 8:15 a.m. During the investigation it was determined that a 35-year-old Prescott Valley man, traveling northbound on State Route 89, failed to stop for the red light at MacCurdy Drive. He struck a truck driven by a 60-year-old male from Prescott, who was turning left from MacCurdy Drive southbound onto State Route 89. The 60 year old sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center’s east campus. The 35 year old driver was not injured and was found to have a suspended driver’s license and received citations for that violation. Southbound State Route 89 was closed and one northbound lane was closed for around two hours. Police say Impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
