Two Cottonwood men were arrested Saturday after a report of the two threatening several people with a hand gun. Police say victims were able to identify 39-year-old Joseph Saverino and 51-year-old Steven Carns as the ones making the threats at the Best Western Cottonwood Inn. Saverino, who is a prohibited possessor, was the one who pointed the gun at the victims. When contact with the suspects was made, Carns was found to be in possession of the loaded handgun. Both were arrested. Saverino was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, endangerment, criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct reckless handling of a weapon and prohibited possessor. Carns was charged with weapon misconduct, facilitation of endangerment and facilitation of aggravated assault. Both were booked in the Yavapai County Jail. Saverino remains in jail on a $2,500 dollar bond and Carns is being held without bond.
