Two people were arrested after Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies found fentanyl pills during a traffic stop. Deputies pulled over a Chevy Cavalier Monday night at around 9:30 p.m. near Dewey after committing moving violations on highways 69 and 169. During a K9 sniff outside of the car, the dog alerted deputies to a spot. Deputies found 19 Xanax pills laced with fentanyl and meth. Authorities arrested 32-year-old Richard Carlson from Dewey and 20-year-old Olivia Jordan from Prescott. Deputies saw Jordan was walking in a manner indicating she may have contraband concealed in her pants. Deputies warned Jordan that if she was hiding something going into jail, additional felony charges would be filed. A female officer removed a clear bag with 445 fentanyl pills from her person. Carlson admitted to ongoing fentanyl sales in the area and had a forgery warrant out of Maricopa County. Both suspects were charged with fentanyl sales and drug possession. Bond has yet to be set. The case remains under investigation.
