The Navajo Nation is lifting its 57-hour weekend curfews starting with this weekend. Health officials say the curve of new cases of COVID-19 has lowered enough so leaders are confident to remove the curfew. However, if cases spike, President Jonathan Nez says he will reinstitute the weekend curfews. Nez also says the tribe will issue public health orders for churches, traditional ceremonies and other gatherings soon. The health order for mandatory wearing of masks on the reservation remains in effect. Health officials say there were 54 new cases of COVID-19 and four more deaths. There have been 252 coronavirus related deaths on the Navajo Nation with nearly two-thousand recoveries.
