The Navajo Nation has extended the weekend curfews at least through the end of September. The decision was made this week to carry the 32-hour weekend curfew a while longer. The daily curfew remains in effect from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The weekend curfew lasts from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez says “now is the time to prepare your homes and families for the upcoming winter and flu seasons.” He adds “use the weekends to gather wood, food and water, medical supplies and other resources.” On Tuesday there were nine new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths.
