Northern Arizona University has released its tuition proposal for the 2019-2020 academic year. The proposal ensures that 98-percent of continuing undergraduate students on NAU’s Flagstaff campus will not see an increase, keeping with the NAU Pledge Program. The program ensures the same cost of tuition from the beginning until graduation for undergrads. NAU is proposing a two-point-five-percent increase for all incoming and graduate students for next year. However, NAU wants to eliminate more than 250 class fees, which amounts to more than a quarter of all current class fees. However, NAU is proposing to install two mandatory fee increases. One is a 25-dollar per semester increase to the Health and Learning Center fee for mental health counseling and a ten-dollar per semester increase in the green fee for campus sustainability projects. The Arizona Board of Regents will consider all three universities’ tuition and fee proposals during their meeting in Tucson on April 11th.
