A man was arrested early Sunday morning by SWAT officials, and deputies, after a domestic violence incident in Cottonwood. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 700-block of Cinnabar Drive at around 5 a.m. The caller reported that 34-year-old Larry McQuay-Webb was attempting to steal her friend’s vehicle by towing it out of the driveway using a tow bar attached to his truck. Her friend is Webb’s estranged girlfriend. Webb gave up trying to tow the vehicle after learning deputies were on their way. Before leaving, Webb apparently threatened to shoot both women. Several children were home at the time. The night before, Webb had brief contact with the women at a house in the 34-hundred block of Del Rio Drive. He told them he was going to “blow up” their car and continued threatening them via text message. On Sunday, deputies located Webb’s vehicle at the home, but could not contact him. Webb texted his father saying “the cops were there to arrest him” and refused to surrender. A SWAT team arrived and was staging when Webb surrendered without incident. Deputies searched the home and found a firearm inside. Webb was booked on charges that included disorderly conduct, trespassing, burglary and more. Bond has not been set in the case.
