Investigators are looking into the discovery of possible human remains found in a remote area near Prescott Saturday. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies were called to an area off Contreras Road, North of Iron Springs Road about the discovery. Then additional remains were found Sunday in the Camp Wood area off Williamson Valley, northwest of Prescott. Preliminary evidence indicates are associated with the remains found Saturday. Yavapai County Medical Examiner’s say evidence shows the remains are from a medical institution intended for use in the educational and research field. Also, detectives have found what are commonly known as ‘puppy pads’ at both sites along with gauze like material. These pads are also used in hospital settings for patients who are incontinent. Authorities say there are rigorous standards regarding the control, transportation and use of cadavers and associated body parts. Abandoning remains in this manner is a serious crime. Detectives are requesting that any hunters who may have game cameras in the Camp Wood area off Williamson Valley, or Contreras Road off Iron Springs Road, check their cameras for suspicious activity over the last few days.
